  • Christmas is crazy. I don't feel like that's breaking too much new ground by saying that, but it's so true. I decided I'd cram in as many shifts at the day-job as possible so I could start the year with a bit of a financial safety net, but it's meant that I've basically scheduled myself out of any Christmas fun. I'm still rehearsing for the history play and have little to no time to sit down and learn lines, never mind do the character homework I usually commit to.

I'm not beating myself up about any of this. It's a time for focussing on family and having fun and I'm committing to that, but I have not made things easy for myself.

  • White Christmas
  • Probably won't have time to watch any Christmas films this year, so I made sure I made time for the best.

  • Minutes to Midnight
My NetNewsWire app is slowly building a collection of blogs that I enjoy, but recently I've been coming back to Simone and Minutes to Midnight (typically during my commute) and always find something worth reading. A lot of their more recent posts have been about their slow but determined drift away from the corporate internet and into a more intentional way of living, which has been resonating with me in quite a profound way recently. Reading his work reminds me why I love working on my own site, and why personal blogs are worth your time.
